The BMW E53 is an all-wheel-drive wagon with centrally shared tailgate from BMW. He is the first generation of the BMW X5, and therefore a predecessor of the BMW E70. It was founded in 1999 in the United States and was presented the first of BMW offer limited off-road vehicle. He is regarded as the SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and the manufacturer describes the car but not as "SUV" or as "SUV", but marketed as the BMW X5 SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) - a specially created for the X5 category. Later presented a smaller variant of a SAV is the BMW X3.
